Pet import requirements by country
Every country sets its own rules for bringing a dog or cat in, and the order the steps are done in matters as much as the steps themselves. These pages set out what each destination asks for, name the authority behind it, and show the date the requirements were last verified.
Always confirm before you book. Import rules change without notice. Each page names the authority that sets the rules and links its own page. Unlike others, we explain the requirements for your destination and guide you through the process free of charge — and if a pet shipper is not necessary, we will tell you that too.

Questions about destination requirements
How far in advance should I start preparing for an international pet move?
Ideally, begin planning at least 30–60 days in advance, as many countries have strict timelines for vaccinations, permits, and health checks. Destinations that require a rabies antibody test with a waiting period need considerably longer.
We are experienced with travel emergencies and are happy to discuss them during your free consultation.
Why does the order of the microchip and the rabies vaccination matter?
Most import regimes only count a rabies vaccination that was given after the microchip was implanted, because the microchip is what ties the vaccination record to the animal. A vaccination given first often has to be repeated, which can move a travel date by months.
Are these requirements guaranteed to be current?
No. Import rules change without notice, which is why each page shows the date its requirements were last verified and links the authority that sets them. Always confirm with that authority, or with us on (424) 421-1650, before booking travel or starting vet work.
