Health certificate and permits
Health certificate must be issued within 10 days of travel.
The EU Animal Health Certificate is another document that contains specific in formation about your pet (identity, health, rabies vaccination) and is based on an EU standard template.
If you arrive from a non-EU country or territory, you must be able to present an EU animal health certificate endorsed by an of ficial veterinarian of the country of departure, issued at least ten days before the animal's arrival in the EU. The certificate is valid for travel between EU countries for a period of four months from that date or until the rabies vaccination expires, whichever expires first.
You must also attach a written declaration to your pet's EU animal health certificate in dicating that its entry is not for commercial reasons. This declaration is also necessary if your pet travels under the responsibility of someone authorized by you. In this case, you must be reunited with your pet within five days of entry.

Export notes
All dogs, cats and ferrets leaving Luxembourg for another EU Member State must be microchipped, vaccinated for rabies (in that order) and wait 21 days before leaving Luxembourg. If you are planning to take your pet on a trip to a high-rabies country, your veterinarian should do a Blood Titer Test before you leave if you intend to return. Export permits may be required for non-accompanied transports.
