The order matters more than the effort: a rabies vaccination given before the microchip was implanted does not count in most regimes, and a titer test drawn too early restarts a waiting period. Import requirements
There are not any exact restrictions. Pets can be imported at the age of 4 months with valid rabies vaccination record.
The following documents should be provided for at least 10 working days
in advance prior to the pet’s arrival:
- Vaccination certificate
- Veterinary certificate
- Passport Copy of the Pet
- Owners’ Passport Copy
- Owners’ Visa/TRP.
- Notarized POA from Owner for customs clearance purposes.
Animals transported for personal use as pets are considered as personal pet move.
If not commercial cargo, then no duties apply.
It is always recommended to check import requirements before shipping pets to Azerbaijan. Food safety agency of republic of Azerbaijan may in troduce changes and implement new requirements with or without notice.
The following documents are required for import:
• Owner’s passport copy (photo page only)
• Pet passport or identification document showing pet’s name, spieces, breed, date of birth, color, microchip number and date when in serted, as well as owner’s name.
• Vaccination records (valid rabies vaccination + tapeworm treatment)
• Veterinary health certificate or fit to travel letter
In case if pets arrive as registered cargo, owner must be physically present at customs during import clearance.

Tax ID should be activated prior to pets’ arrival.
Contact food safety agency to obtain current requirements before shipping, as they frequently change. Commercial moves require special permission from food safety agency / customs authorities / cabinet of ministers.
Yes, there can be some changes, but mostly for animals like birds, mice, rabbits etc. This must be pre-checked prior to pet arrival, as some processes may take significant time.
Azerbaijan is a non-eu / unlisted country, the refore owner must be aware of requirements for moving with their pets from Azerbaijan back to their home country especially if it is UK, EU countries, UAE, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and other countries with specific import requirements.

Rabies and vaccinations
Valid Rabies vaccination certificate is required (minimum yearly record) between 11 month and 1 month prior arrival. Must be vaccinated at least 21 days before entering the country.
Rabies vaccine is a mandatory, should be done not earlier then 21 days upon arrival to Azerbaijan and not later than 1 year.
Tests and treatments
Not required
Treatments are required from flea, tapeworm. It can be done same day as export date, must be current and valid upon arrival.
VET. Certificate should be received within 10 days prior the pet arrival.
Health certificate and permits
There is not any special form. The Health Certificate should be done within 10 days of travel confirming that pet is healthy and fit to travel and comfirm vaccinations with record.

Restrictions and banned breeds
There is not any breed restriction.
Mostly dogs and cats can be imported, if other pets such as birds, rabbits, etc.. those should be pre-checked.

As manifested cargo NOT required destination agent. If accompanied and under one ticket, then owner can freely go via check in.

Code of the Azerbaijan Republic on Administrative Violations: Article 129 prohibits brutal treatment of animals that causes death or severe in jury.
