Rabies and vaccinations
At the min age of 12 weeks the pet must be vaccinated for rabies and have proper certificates from a licensed veterinarian (If it's the animal's first vaccination, the animal must wait a month before traveling. If it's just the yearly rabies vaccination, the animal can travel right away).

Health certificate and permits
A certificate of “good bill of health” issued no more than ten (10) days prior must be presented as part of the importation of the animal to the islands;
This certificate of “good bill of health” is no longer required for animals returning from a stay of no more than two (2) months within Canada or the European Union.
Restrictions and banned breeds
Import of dogs of “1st category”, notably similar in breed characteristics as the following breeds: Staffordshire terrier, American Staffordshire terrier (Pitbull), Mastiff (Boerboel), Tosa, is prohibited in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
