Applicant must submit (via e-mail)

• Animals (Dogs and Cats) must be 13 weeks or older

• An original International Health Certificate issued by an accredited veterinarian and endorsed by

the Government Veterinarian in the country of origin

• The health certificate must be translated to ENGLISH if it is written in another language.

• The health certificate must have Exporter and Importer in formation

• The health certificate must show that the animal(s) are fully vaccinated (incl. Rabies, DHLPP/ Lyme/

• FVRCP/FeLV etc.) and free from in ternal and external parasites (Negative fecal test and Flea and Tick preventative medication)

• The health certificate must provide the animal(s) ID/Tag number

• Animals MUST be vaccinated against rabies at least one (1) month BEFORE travel. The three-year rabies vaccine is accepted.

• The health certificate must state that animal(s) is/are be free of any in fectious or contagious diseases and

have not been in contact with any animal suffering from the same for the past sixty (60) days.

Permit is only valid for one (1) month

• If animals (Dogs) are permanently staying on the island, owners must license their animals at Inland Revenue and present proof of licensure to the Dept. of Natural Resources within five (5) business days.

• Visitors must obtain a temporary dog license from Inland Revenue for any period not exceeding 3 Months

• EC $35.00 or US $13.02. Payment by card US $15.00

NB: Anguilla Dog Act

“No person shall import any dog of the type known as the pit bull terrier or other ferocious dog and any dog so imported shall be seized and forfeited to the Crown, unless the person who imports the dog proves to the satisfaction of the Chief Veterinary of ficer that the dog is not of a type as the Pit bull terrier or is not a ferocious dog.

Requirements for Import

Identification and microchip

Rabies and vaccinations

If over 3 months old, must have been vaccinated for rabies between 30 days and 12 months prior to entering.

2- and 3-year rabies vaccinations not recognized.

Rabies titer test NOT required

Dogs should be vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parovirus and Parainfluenza.

Cats should be vaccinated against Rabies, Feline panleukopenia (Distemper), Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Leukemia.

Health certificate and permits

The health certificate must be translated to ENGLISH if it is written in another language. Endorsed by government and usually within 7 days of travel.

Yes, required. See Government forms for copy of the import permit. Form should be completed / submitted at least two weeks prior to entry.

Application for importation of animals into Anguilla must be completed (block letters or type) and returned with copies of all necessary documents. Failure to do so may result in delay in the processing of your permit. Form should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to travel to allow ample time for processing of permit, once all the conditions for entry have been met. Must in clude:

  • Name of person(s) traveling with pet
  • Country of origin
  • Breed/species of animal
  • An original Health Certificate issued by a vet in country of origin stating that animal should be free of any in fectious or contagious diseases and should not have been in contact with any animal suffering from the same for the past 60 days.

Permit is only valid for 1 month after issuance.
