The order matters more than the effort: a rabies vaccination given before the microchip was implanted does not count in most regimes, and a titer test drawn too early restarts a waiting period. If you are planning to import a dog, you must have it microchipped and registered within two weeks of its arrival. The microchip is normally implanted by a vet, who can also advise you on how to register the animal.
Identification and microchip
Required, must have been in serted before first vaccinations.
Rabies and vaccinations
Must have been vaccinated at 12 weeks old. If the pet has only received its first rabies shot, travel date must be no less than 21 days after its administration. If it is not the animal’s first shot, travel date must be no less than 30 days and no more than 12 months from vaccination date.
Required for dogs: parvovirus, parainfluenza, leptospirosis, distemper, hepatitis, rabies
Required for cats: Panleukopenia, feline calcivirus, FHV-1, FeLV, rabies.
Tests and treatments
Titer test required, must be done no less than 30 days after rabies shot. Must be performed by an authorised agent from the EU. If results are within the accepted parameters, the pet can be imported no less than 90 days after the test is done.
Must be treated for in ternal and external parasites.
Health certificate and permits
Required, must in clude animal’s in formation and physical description, must certify that the animal is immunized against endemic diseases, rabies, must in clude results of titer test, records of anti parasitic treatment.
International import permit required.

Prohibited:
- Pets - dogs and cats from Central and South America, except from Suriname are prohibited (also in transit) from entering Netherland Antilles.

- Parrots and parakeets must be accompanied by a veterinarian good health certificate issued at point of origin, which should be issued a max. of 14 days prior to arrival.
- If the total value of the goods per passenger exceeds ANG 500.-, declaration should be made on customs forms and cleared at the freight department;
