Import requirements
Dogs and cats can enter Guinea not less than 12 weeks with a valid rabies vaccination certificate
An import permit is not needed when entering Guinea with a personal pet.
Dogs must be accompanied by rabies in oculation certificate. All animals are subject to examination by Customs Veterinarian (clearance may be delayed after office hours and at weekends).
Pets must be accompanied by an export health certificate signed, stamped and dated within 5 days by a licensed government veterinarian in country of origin.

Your pet cat or dog must be vaccinated for rabies between 30 days and 12 months prior to entry into the country.
Pets must have a valid rabies certificate not less than thirty days from time of vaccination and not more than twelve months.

A rabies titer test is not required to enter Guinea Republic from any country.
A tick and tapeworm treatment is not required prior to entering Guinea but is recommended due to availability of these products in the country.

Article 148: The types of dogs likely to be particularly
dangerous and subject to specific measures are divided into two categories:
- First category: attack dogs;
- Second category: guard and defense dogs.
A joint decree of the Minister of the Interior and the Minister responsible for livestock.
NOTE Category 1 dogs are prohibited from being imported into republic of Guinea. Awaiver can be applied for if the importation of Attack dogs is of public in terest.

Pets can enter in the cabin, as checked baggage or as air cargo.
All domestic dogs and cats must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the entry airport. If your dog or cat is not in apparent good health, further examination by a licensed veterinarian may be required at your expense.
Pets not arriving during normal business hours on Monday through Friday will be held until veterinary of fices are open.

Other pets / CITES / extra rules
If your pet is not a dog, cat or ferret, and especially if it is a turtle or parrot, you should verify that it is not protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). You will need to apply for additional permits if this is the case.

It is prohibited to allow a dog to roam free outside the boundaries of its keeper's building, dwelling, or grounds. Outside these boundaries, the dog's keeper must keep the dog on a leash or otherwise assume immediate control and supervise it at all times.

Birds, in vertebrates, tropical fish, reptiles, amphibia, mammals such as rodents and rabbits are not subject to requirements of rabies vaccination, but may have to meet other requirements and should have a health certificate to enter Equatorial Guinea.
Pet owners are strongly advised to seek further in formation from the relevant authority of their country and/or that of the country of destination.
