Where this fits in the timeline. The order matters more than the effort: a rabies vaccination given before the microchip was implanted does not count in most regimes, and a titer test drawn too early restarts a waiting period. You may list up to two pets per permit. If you have more than 2 pets, then multiple permits will be required.
Maximum two (2) pets per in dividual per year. (2 cats or 2 dogs or 1 cat and 1 dog) An agent can arrange to in crease the number to five (5).
Some nationals (Jordanians) have pets but these are not usually considered part of the family. Dogs are often kept outside and may only be for protection / guarding purposes. If someone is walking their dog, this is an unusual sight that can cause cars to slow down to stare. However, since dogs are considered unclean, pedestrians may cross the road to avoid the dog. Out of respect, owners need to keep their dogs under close control and let people approach them. rather than vice versa if they wish to ‘pet’ the dog.
There are very few places to let dogs run freely. Around the golf course about 20 minutes south of Amman is one, although owners need to be beware of sheep at any time and groups of picnickers, especially on Fridays.
Owners need to ensure that their landlord knows that they have pets, as per the usual rental agreements. Almost all hotels do not allow pets and if a dog is in a car, it may be possible that parking is not permitted in some of the underground car parks.

Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) protected species must have import and export permits issued by Nature Conservation / CITES Office prior to departing from origin. The CITES in spection to be carried out in person prior to travel.
- Pets must enter Algeria at the Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers.
- Pet must be identified with a name tag on its collar with current contact in formation of the animal's owner. Animals that are aggressive must wear a muzzle.
- All domestic dogs and cats must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the entry airport. If your dog or cat is not in apparent good health, further examination by a licensed veterinarian may be required at your expense.
- Birds, in vertebrates, tropical fish, reptiles, amphibia, mammals such as rodents and rabbits are not subject to requirements of rabies vaccination, but may have to meet other requirements and should have a health certificate to enter Algeria.
- Psittacine birds: health certificate, certificate of origin and statement of veterinary surgeon that bird is free from psittacosis.
- Prohibited: falcons, except when Presidential authority has been given, with an Algerian government apostille.
